Executive Assistant/Assistant Project Manager

Description:

Sub Zero Excavating is looking for a responsible Executive Assistant/Assistant Project Manager to add to our team. This candidate must have personal responsibility, proactive nature, and a can-do attitude. A person that may not know the answer, but they will find it out. Ultimately, you should be able to identify and address the needs of senior managers and perform administrative tasks to ensure our company’s workflow runs smoothly.

Qualifications, Experience, and Responsibilities:

  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
  • Act as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients and other external partners
  • Completes projects by assigning work to clerical staff; following up on results
  • Conserves executive’s time by reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information

Working Foreman

Description:

Sub Zero Excavating is currently looking for a fulltime Working Foreman full time for Excavation and Installation of Wet Utilities ( Sewer, Water, Storm Drain) and Dry Utilities(Edison, Att, Time Warner and Gas). 

Qualifications, Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Must have at least (3) years of experience as a underground utilities foreman and at least (5) years of experience in the trade.
  • Must be able to either lay pipe or operate equipment as this position is for a WORKING foreman.
  • Well organized, flexible, detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Self-motivated and able to take responsibility
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Must not be afraid to jump in and get your hands dirty.
  • Hourly Pay- based upon experience.
  • Applications for lead man, grade checker, pipelayer will also be accepted and considered at this time.

Heavy Equipment Operator

Description:

Sub-Zero Excavating is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to help in the Excavation and installation of Wet Utilities (Sewer, Water, Storm Drain) and Dry Utilities (Edison, Att, Time Warner, and Gas).  This is a full-time position with hourly pay based upon experience.

Qualifications, Experience and Responsibilities:

  • At-least 4 years equipment operating experience with 6 years trade experience and the ability to operate: Backhoes, Excavators, Loaders, Water trucks, Motorgraders, Skidsteers, etc.
  • We are not a grading company! We need operators that are skilled in excavation for pipeline trenches.
  • Hourly Pay- based upon experience.
  • We are a non-union company with very little prevailing wage work.
  • Our current workload is primarily within the LA and Ventura Counties.
  • All employees must be able to provide their own transportation to and from our jobsites.
  • A valid drivers license is required for employment.

Estimator

Description:

The Estimator reports directly to the Director of Preconstruction. His/her responsibilities include managing all matters relating to construction cost estimating, project bidding, and vendor qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering, B.S. Construction Management, Architecture or similar 4 year degree.

Qualifications, Experience, and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements.
  • Prepare construction budget by studying plans, updating specifications, identifying and projecting costs.
  • Evaluate offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating pricing.
  • Maintain cost keys and price masters.
  • Resolve cost discrepancies.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Underground Utilities Laborer

Description:

Sub Zero Excavating is for laborers for the excavation and installation of Underground Utilities (Dry & Wet). Construction experience is required, however experience in our specific trade is strongly preferred.

Qualifications, Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Duties include strenuous work, in the elements, including but not limited to: shoveling, raking, sweeping, lifting heavy objects, assembling pipe, measuring, utilizing power tamping, cutting, and other tools.
  • Hourly Pay based upon experience.
  • Any experience with heavy equipment maintenance and/or class A license is a plus.
  • Must have experience laying underground utility pipe for Domestic Water, Fire Water, Storm Drain, and Sewer.
  • Knowledge of a grade laser and how to properly calculate grade is a plus.
  • Our current workload is primarily within the LA and Ventura Counties. All employees must provide their own transportation to and from our jobsites.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for employment.

Assistant Project Management Internship

Description:

  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
  • Generate RFI’s
  • Prepare submittal packages
  • Review documents and prepare change orders
  • Understand project logistics and schedule
  • Research for material and issue purchase orders
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications, Experience, and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in the construction industry (a plus)
  • Advanced computer skills (experience with PlanSwift, a plus)

Class A Heavy Equipment Transport Driver

Description:

Sub Zero Excavating is looking for lowboy driver to haul Heavy Equipment.  This equipment can include but is not limited to excavators, backhoes, skidsteers, loaders, and compactors.

Qualifications, Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Candidate should have knowledge and experience with heavy duty diesel construction equipment including loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, compactors, Skid-steers, backhoes, etc.
  • Must possess a valid Class A driver’s license.
  • General Responsibilities
  • Pick up / Drop off and Load/Unload Equipment from Jobsite to Jobsite
  • Responsible for keeping track of all heavy equipment and locations.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records
  • Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Can tow a low-boy with heavy equipment strapped down
  • Perform preventative & routine maintenance on diesel / heavy equipment & trucks as needed.

Receptionist (Part-Time)

Description:

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries with enthusiasm
  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.
